Valerie was born in 1982 in Taipei, Taiwan. She grew up in an artistic and musical household
and demonstrated talent from an early age. She went through the Yamaha music program starting at age 3.
Then went on to joined Chinese Orchestra playing the Pi-Pa from 3rd grade forward; until she was in 9th grade.
Afterwards, she moved to the Los Angeles area in the late 1990's and completed her High School education.
Valerie then moved to Saint Paul Minnesota and began serious pursuit of a career in Music Production.
During her college years she co-producing the Rock n’ Roll comedy musical- “Artist in Trouble”,
and she was also recruited for music production into the Tyler Street Studios in Minneapolis owner by Tracy Petterson.
In December of 2005 Valerie received an Associate Degree in Music Production from McNally Smith College (St. Paul MN).
She continued working with Tracy Petterson and they added a new partner Jerry Pollard to create a new production studio.
SoundZen studios in Minneapolis started in 2005. Valerie has also worked for Avex Records Taiwan and
several smaller music production companies in Taipei.
Current Studio Projects:
Valerie is now a 1/3 owner of the SoundZen Studios in Minneapolis and is currently opening 2nd production school in Taipei.

Group “Two Wurds” 2005: McNally Smith Studios, St Paul, MN
* Collaborative Music Production for Final recoding project with “Two Wurds” Singer/Musician Nate Santos, creating all original music for CD demo, each piece using traditional multitrack recording equipment.
* Responsible for adding the finishing touches to session work, as well as heading the final mix-down stage that results in a completed composition that is ready for mastering.

2005: Tyler Street Studios, Minneapolis, MN Produced and engineered all aspects of recording and over-dub sessions
*In charge of a lengthy backup/archiving project, transferring DAT tape masters into Cubase, logging all information, various editing functions within Cubase.

I'm like, 'Why don't you play me some songs you've written?' Once they do, I'll be like, 'You don't need a writer! You're a wonderful writer.' . . .
